GREG STROOTMAN
Coach Greg started working with Golden Line Training in 2021. Born in 1990, he spent his high school, juniors, and college years playing ice hockey and golf. After graduating college in 2014 and ending his competitive hockey career, he found the sport of CrossFit and started competing as an individual under the guidance of GLT Owner and Head Coach, Matt Bryant.
Greg’s love and desire to learn more about fitness and wellness led him to pursue his NASM CPT, CrossFit Level 1, and OPEX Level 1 certifications. Greg currently works with clients from all sporting backgrounds including high school & collegiate athletes, as well as CrossFit athletes, where he had two individuals competing at the 2023 North America East Semi-Finals and one athlete on a team at the 2023 North America West Semi-Finals.
When Greg is not coaching, you can be sure to find him out on the golf course, traveling, or working out at his local CrossFit gym in Denver, Colorado.
BRANDON PASTOREK
Brandon Pastorek is a CrossFit Games athlete, coach, and former affiliate owner with nearly 20 years of experience in the sport. Before discovering CrossFit in 2007, Brandon competed in baseball and football, developing the competitive mindset that would later fuel his success in functional fitness. He was introduced to CrossFit by his mother, and after being challenged by one of her workouts, quickly became hooked.
Brandon went on to compete as an individual at the 2009 and 2011 CrossFit Games and was a member of a top-10 Games team in 2010. From 2012 through 2016, he remained one of the North Central Region's top competitors, consistently finishing in the top 10 at Regionals. More recently, he returned to elite competition as a Masters athlete, qualifying for the 2024 CrossFit Games. In recent years, he has also competed at several Legends Championship events and Wodapalooza, continuing to test himself against some of the sport's top Masters athletes.
Since 2022, Brandon has focused on one-on-one coaching, helping athletes of all experience levels reach their goals through individualized programming and mentorship. After years of receiving individualized coaching himself, including several years under renowned coach Matt Bryant, he has experienced firsthand the impact of individualized coaching on athletic development. That perspective, combined with his belief in the Goldenline Training philosophy, shapes the way he coaches and supports each athlete.
Outside of CrossFit, Brandon serves as a law enforcement officer and lives in Maryland, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and their family, including his three children.
TRAVON BENTON
Hi my name is Travon Benton and I’m located in Austin, Texas! I grew up playing baseball and football competitively from little league all the way through high school. After high school, I went on to play two years of junior college baseball at New Mexico Junior College, and then received a scholarship and finished my baseball career at Texas State University. After my baseball career ended in 2019, I began pursuing CrossFit and quickly realized that I had the drive and talent to compete at a high level. The following season, I qualified for the Pro Division in my first ever competition as an individual. This is what lead me to meet Coach Matt, and I have now been part of Goldenline Training for 3 years.
Since then, I’ve qualified for two Semifinals, two years at Wodapalooza (Elite Division) and have finished as low as 19th in the world in the CrossFit Open. I enjoy coaching competitive athletes as well as anyone who is eager to learn and grow in fitness. I love to learn, and am excited to extend my learning by sharing the knowledge and experience that I acquire with others!
